I have been in solo practice in Colorado springs for
many years, but am most pleased to be the most recent addition to the
exceptional professional staff of Women's Associates.
By way of introduction, I was born and raised in Raleigh, North
Carolina and attended Davidson College. Wishing to experience a different
culture, I sought my medical school and residency training at the
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and was able to spend on semester
at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. After completing residency, my
military obligation was initiated at Nurnberg, Germany and completed at
Fort Carson. With the exception of a short recall to active duty during
Desert Storm, the subsequent years have been spent in private practice. I
did complete my retirement obligation in the army Reserves.
My wife and I have been actively involved in Colorado Springs local
schools and the medical community. My wife, in particular, does much
volunteer work and currently gives her time in kindergarten, and on the
boards of The Colorado College Women's Education Society and Newborn Hope.
We have a son, who is a lawyer, his wife and one grandchild who live in
Columbia, South Carolina, and a daughter, who works in communications with
Wachovia Securities, and her husband living in Richmond, Virginia. My wife
and I have current interests including hiking, playing bad golf, and
occasional travel. When possible I devote time to my hobby of wood
working.
Beginning with my initial fascination with Embryology during college, I
continue to be amazed by the complexity of human development. It is my
privilege to work with mothers during their pregnancies and with all women
for their gynecologic health problems.
